Photo collaboration

Photo collaboration

Once upon a time, I ran a photo collaboration project at 100 Toys. Free toys in exchange for photos. It worked brilliantly.

If you click on the 'Examples' tab in this space you can see some of the contributions. I've also included some of my favourites in this post.

Would you like to contribute?

I need photos for Play with Purpose. Would you like to take some for me?

This time I don't have toys to give in exchange. Instead, the offer is full access to everything I ever make, plus a month's worth of unlimited coaching via email).

How many photos?

There's no strict minimum. Here are some of the craft photos Alex Rebbeck shared with me.

You can see that it's really just one activity photographed from several angles but, for me, these pictures were immensely valuable. I was able to use them in dozens of articles, on topics ranging from art and colour to fine motor skills and the positioning schema.

And here are some photos from Billy Georgieva:

Here the variety comes from taking pictures in three different locations.

Free coaching

With the launch of Play with Purpose, I'm now offering coaching to parents on all things child development and play. As a photo collaborator, you'll qualify for a month's worth of unlimited  advice and resources via email.

You can even ask me about starting or growing an online business. This is something I have been offering outside of my online courses and it has proved to be very popular.

Publicity

I'll use your photos on the new Play with Purpose and social media profiles and you'll be credited (assuming you'd like to be) whenever a picture is used. I've also created contributor pages here in the community (for example, this one for Billy Georgieva). Note: Billy's page currently contains no more than photos, but I'll add any links and copy she would like to include. It's great chance to promote your work and many previous contributors have secured freelance work with other children's brands as a result of our collaboration.

What kinds of photos?

I like to give contributors the freedom to photograph in the style they prefer and on topics they find easy and enjoyable. Get in touch and I can give you further details but, in short, I need pictures of children aged 0 - 10 enjoying everyday activities, from playing and crafting to tidying up and putting things away.

The only thing I ask is that the pictures look professional and broadly match the style of the images you see here. Natural light, simple colours, tidy rooms. The rest is up to you.

Get in touch

If you think you'd like to contribute, reply to any Play with Purpose email or DM via X or Instagram. Please attach examples of your photography or a link to a social account or website so I can confirm your style is a match.

I'm looking forward to working with you.
